TRANSCENDENCE

Visualisations and soul food

Transcendence, engaging with that feeling you get when you look at nature, architecture, a painting, a sculpture, hear music, dance. Using it as a starting point to get in touch with yourself, a gateway to exploring what's going on under the surface.

Spending some time immersing yourself or simply noticing what his around you can add so much comfort and inspiration.  I love flicking through art books or Pinterest looking at simple line drawings of figures or sitting underneath trees looking at how the light comes through the branches or leaves. I love sitting in cafes and watching people react to each other, noticing moments of surprise or pleasure.  


Visualisations are a great way of soothing yourself and tapping in. They are relaxing, focusing and can be rather illuminating. Quite often they work in metaphor or story.. but you can make up your own too to suit each purpose. 


What to do.


Sit somewhere you will not be disturbed, close your eyes if you like or just lower your gaze, try not to focus on any one thing if you can help it.. 


Begin to notice your breathing, the natural ebb and flow of your breath. 


Take 3 deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth then let your breathing return to normal. If you notice your focus slipping at any time, don’t worry, just come back to your breath. 


Notice the sounds in the place you are in, let them visit you as would a hummingbird or a bee… not staying for long. Notice the sounds that are further away in the distance or outside, let them pass by.


Come back to your breathing.


Give yourself permission to be distracted. 


Come back to your breathing.


Start to imagine a glowing orb above your head, allow it to descend down, illuminating your head, entering through the crown. It glows brighter as you allow thought and logic to melt away.


The light glows and descends down through your face, relax your features and down the spine over your shoulders and into your heart space, relaxing each muscle as is goes. 


The orb glows brighter into your heart space as you let love fill you with every breath in and feel yourself relax with every breath out.


Visualise the orb moving down into your womb space. Allow the sense of your guiding intuition to become more and more present and strong, as the glow pulsates and glows brighter and brighter. Let yourself feel rooted to the earth, connected.

Take three more deep breaths.
